A little programming alert here: on August 14, it looks like our James Cagney is going to get his own 24-hour feature spot during TCM's Summer Under The Stars. (The main schedule on the TCM website doesn't stretch to August yet, but the very limited schedule widget on Cagney's bio page currently shows Footlight Parade, The Public Enemy, Smart Money, One Two Three, and The Seven Little Foys in the lineup that day.)

About a week ago, I lucked into something rather awesome that I hadn't seen or heard of before. It appears to be a printed program from the ceremony in which James Cagney received his AFI Lifetime Achievement Award. I don't know if it was actually handed out to the attendees (although in places it certainly reads like it was), but in any case it very clearly commemorates the event.

Some pictures. Large file size warning! )

Okay!  I'm finally back with some more cool stuff to share.  It took long enough, but at least it's getting done.

Here we go... )

Our movie of the month for April is The Bride Came C.O.D., costarring Bette Davis.

That dame. Undoubtedly the outstanding screwball of her generation. )

As always, feel free to post reviews and pictures, or just add your two cents right here. If you have the movie (or choose to track it down), be sure to make some time to watch it this month!

[ETA: not early April Fool's, just a brain spazz. I thought it was the last day of the month. Since there was no update for two months, though, I'm sure no one will mind my leaving this be.]

Hey everyone!  I've been lurking here for awhile but never posted anything as I've had nothing to share (mostly because I get all  my photos and news from here!)  But I've just recently acquired some cool things I hope you'll be interested in, so here goes.

The Public Enemy - Mar 15, 08:00PM
An Irish-American street punk tries to make it big in the world of organized crime.

The Irish In Us - Mar 17, 08:00AM
The sons of an Irish family have to choose among police work, prize fighting and love.

As a side note, I will not be posting the next Movie of the Month until April. Assembling, uploading, and posting the picspams is a great deal of work that I seriously don't have time for this month. (To be honest, no one has responded to those posts in quite a while anyway, so I'm kind of questioning the value of them altogether.)
